Biografía
Bióloga de la Universidad de Concepción, Concepción, Chile (2010). Doctora en Biología (PhD) con mención en Ecología (2016) de la University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canadá. Realizó un primer postdoctorado con el Dr. James F. Cahill de la University of Alberta, y actualmente se encuentra realizando un segundo postdoctorado con el Dr. Ernesto Gianoli en la Universidad de La Serena.
Descripción de su actividad académica
A nivel de post-grado, dicta el electivo “Conceptos fundamentales en Ecología” para el programa de Doctorado en Ciencias Biológicas mención Ecología de Zonas Áridas, y el Magister en Ciencias Biológicas mención Ecología de Zonas Áridas.
Sus principales líneas de investigación se centran en entender las respuestas ecológicas y evolutivas de las plantas a su ambientes, y a factores del cambio global como lo son las invasiones biológicas, el cambio climático y la fragmentación de hábitat.
Sus principales líneas de investigación son (1) respuestas evolutivas y funcionales de comunidades de plantas al aislamiento y la aridez y (2) determinantes del establecimiento de especies invasoras, y su impacto ecológico y evolutivo sobre comunidades nativas. Utiliza aproximaciones experimentales (en campo e invernadero) y observacionales para responder sus preguntas.
